Valentine’s Day Color

Happy Valentine’s Day!

When Pantone announced it’s 2011 color of the year a few months ago, I thought to myself it is a great color for Valentine’s Day. So, while I followed many blogs sharing this color when it was announced, I wanted to share it today.

Honeysuckle, Color of the Year

Leatrice Eiseman of Pantone said “The intensity of this festive reddish pink allures and engages. In fact, this color, not the sweet fragrance of the flower blossoms for which it was named, is what attracts hummingbirds to nectar. Honeysuckle may also bring a wave of nostalgia for its associated delicious scent reminiscent of the carefree days of spring and summer.”

With that description, I can’t think of a more fitting color to follow the dreary months of winter we’ve been facing! A color that “allures and engages” must be right for Valentine’s Day!

Here are a few rooms that really feature the color.

It may be a bit too much for some, but you have to admit the rooms are truly warm and inviting. Personally, they make me want chocolate!

LOL,
