Vision Boards are a great way to jump start a new year. You may have seen this article in the Huffingtion Post healthy living section, by Jennifer C. Walton. She makes some very good points as to why a vision board is a good idea. I’ve been doing a lot of work lately to create my vision for 2016. I spend most of my time helping clients visualize their homes during the interior design process, and I often find it easier to see the vision for someone else rather than myself. Today I’ve focused on putting my vision together. Maybe it will inspire you to work on yours, too!
For my board, I found images and quotes that represent my vision for 2016. I also incorporated colors and textures that represent what Sea Green Designs is, natural, coastal, and creative.
The two quotes in the close-up above I found on instagram on @kikkik_loves. I fell in love with this Swedish company’s shop on my last visit to Australia. The palette is so clean and crisp and their organizational products and homewares are sure to motivate you to both make and stick to all your New Year’s Resolutions. Thankfully, they ship to the US and worldwide. I recommend you check out their website, kikki-k.com. I know you won’t be disappointed.
On this close-up I really wanted to highlight the quote by Kerry Joyce. He is an interior design star with numerous awards and honors, including being named one of House Beautiful’s “Who’s Who of American Design”. He has gorgeous collections of textiles, wallpapers, trims and more. I love his use of textures and his coastal palette and that it is so influenced by nature. This is why the quote really resonates with me and all that he has accomplished is certainly motivation for me.
Are there any quotes that really speak to you? Is there a color scheme you’re inspired by? Does the success of someone you admire motivate you? If so, I’d love to know.
Happy New Year!
