When talking to clients lately, it seems everyone is asking of something more “modern” than their current style. Sometimes that’s hard to define, so I wanted to share some great images of some of my favorite coastal modern interiors.

What defines coastal modern interiors to me are clean lines, softened by textured wood tones. Fabrics like linen soften edges as do accents in mohair and sheepskin. Lighting with added texture like shells in the chandelier above or the jute wrapped shade in my coastal modern home mood board below. While the lines are clean the color schemes have elements of the outdoors which seems to add a sense of calm to the spaces.

I put the mood board above together with some pieces from our favorite sources. We’re very excited to be carrying Moss Studios. They do the sofa and cocktail table and lucite ottoman with sheepskin seat. Moss Studio pieces arrive at Sea Green Designs in a month! We currently have a pair of the Maya chandeliers in a smaller size in our Southampton store. I love the texture and cleam lines. Palacek makes the masculine, modern Dunemere chair shown above and the Biscayne glass side table. I love Palacek for their use of natural materials.
What’s your interior design style? Are you leaning toward the clean lines of the modern style? How do you define coastal modern interior design?
Be inspired,
Shannon
