Coastal Color: Harvest Moon
This week’s coastal color is Harvest Moon.
Very fitting for what we experienced last night in the North East. It turns out that the Harvest moon is the moon closest to the autumnal equinox which for us was September 29th and 30th. This I learned here, a site full of Harvest Moon info.
Often times the warm tones are overlooked when putting together a coastal palette, but there are many ways to incorporate tones like Harvest Moon into coastal style. I think the image above is quite an inspiration.
Don’t you think Kravets’ Coral Velvet fabric would make an amazing pillow or even fabulous upholstery?
You could also add a rug with Harvest Moon colors to contrast a cool blue room.
It just wouldn’t be autumn with out the warm glow of candles, but it’s even better with candles in color like Root’s Pumpkin Spice.
And of course, let’s not forget about the walls. Above is a picture of a bathroom re-do on The Mullet House blog. I think a small room is great place to use a bold color like Harvest Moon.
What do you think? Have you used this color?
Best,
Shannon
