You may be one of those incredibly organized people who gets their holiday shopping done in July, but if you’re like me and like the holiday spirit to set in before shopping for gifts, you might find some inspiration in today’s post. I have put together 12 of my favorite shop finds that make great holiday gifts for those on your list that love the coastal look.
The pillows above have been a favorite of mine at Sea Green Designs for awhile. Made in the USA by Eastern Accents, the texture of the burlap, combined with the coastal figures and holiday quotes on these Holiday Pillows make them a fun holiday gift. The “message in a bottle” pillow with it’s wish list for Santa is so clever! These also make great gifts because they are so neutral, they don’t scream HOLIDAY! They give just a subtle nod to the holidays with a coastal spirit.
The photo above has two coastal gift ideas. The crackled, sea green, Mercury Glass Ornaments are a gift that would make a lovely addition to any tree while the Nest Boxes by Face to Face Designs make great planters, pencil holders, or really anything that you can think of holders. I displayed them with the ornaments as a gift box of sorts. You could always buy one and fill it with another special gift, like jewelry :)…
I included these adorable mercury glass owls on my list of 12 great holiday gifts because they evoke a the feeling of winter with their silvery sparkle, but really can be part of any room all year long. I added a coastal touch with a turquoise bow. With the owls symbolic meaning of wisdom, the smaller one, which can be hung on a tree would make a great teacher’s gift.
Moving from silver to gold, the golden starfish above would make a great gift for anyone on your list who likes a sophisticated, coastal look. The white glass vase is crisp and clean and lets the starfish shine. I can picture this piece on a bedside table or perhaps a powder room. Last year, I grouped several together as part of our holiday tabletop display. There’s so many places in the home this gift could add a little coastal, golden glow.
For those on your holiday gift list that like the more rustic, reclaimed, coastal look, the set of three candle holders make a great gift. The are reminiscent of the man-made marine structure called a dolphin, perfect for the sailor or fisherman on your list, but also just a beautiful home accent.
I have to include our favorite candles on this Holiday Gift List! I came across MerSea candles a few years ago and knew they were perfect for Sea Green Designs, being made in the America, having the most beautiful natural fragrances, and with coastal names and packaging. They are a perfect gift for any one with a coastal style. The linen wrapped votive would even make a great stocking stuffer!
The next gift I included are these linen covered photo albums. You can give them as a gift filled with photos or as they are and let the lucky recipient fill them with memories. The phrase can be customized/ monogrammed and the starfish are a lovely coastal touch.
These abalone shell trees would make a wonderful adornment to a mantle or table top. Give these as a gift, and I’m sure you’ll get a great big thanks! They are both sophisticated and coastal, and I believe you could display them all year, but that’s just me…
The sphere vase by Europe 2 You is a new favorite of mine here in the shop. I included them on a previous blog post about recycled glass making a great a coastal accent. You can read it here. Individually or as multiples, they are a wonderful gift for the holidays. I filled them here with just a stem of Winterberry, but they are beautiful no matter what you put in them. I’ve even had clients use them for snacks like nuts and candy. I think I might have to try displaying them with holiday M&M’s.
My next suggestion is a much bigger gift, but I think so perfect for holiday serving. The Sandkey Triple Serving Tray is a recent find by a new company dedicated to sustainability, Imagine Home. You can check out more of their product here. I used this piece at our Annual Holiday Open House last week for our hors d’ouevres. It worked beautifully, and I think anyone who entertains would love to get this as a gift. (notice how I incorporated the sphere vases, too?)
I saved the biggest and best Holiday gift for last. These Christmas trees made of grain sacks are also by Europe 2 You (who make the set of three candle holders and the sphere vase). I fell in love with them last year. They are a big hit here in the shop and would most likely be the kind of gift you don’t wrap as they are about 5′ tall, but I had to include them as a gift idea because people who come in the shop love them. I had one client buy one for herself to pin holiday cards to. Brilliant!
Well, that does it for my 12 Great Holiday Gift Ideas for a Coastal Home. I hope you were inspired.
Would any of these items work for the people on your gift giving list? Would you like to receive one of these items as a gift yourself? Let me know. I’d love to hear from you.
